Postgraduate education aims to train nationally and internationally qualified manpower in different fields of study, to contribute to the development of science and technology, and to lead R&D studies for regional and country development. Postgraduate education is carried out with institutes within universities. The institutes are responsible for opening postgraduate programs and conducting research by providing interdisciplinary communication and coordination. Scientific and academic levels of universities are measured by the scientific studies carried out by the Institutes.
History
The Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences was established under the Rectorate in accordance with Article 62(d) of the Namık Kemal University founding law published in the Official Gazette dated March 17, 2006, and numbered 26111.
With the approval of the General Council of Higher Education dated 02.02.2007, 13 departments within the body of Trakya University Institute of Science and Technology were transferred to Namık Kemal University Institute of Science and started their activities in the 2006-2007 Spring Semester.
With the development of our university; As of the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year, there are a total of 39 graduate programs, including 18 Doctorate Programs, 21 Master's Programs with Thesis, and 1 Distance Education Master's Program without Thesis.
Among them, it was decided not to admit students to the Environmental Sciences and Technologies Doctorate Program, which was established as an interdisciplinary program, with the opening of the Environmental Engineering and Chemistry doctoral programs, and the current students continue their education. The Distance Education Non-Thesis Master's Program has not yet started its educational activities.
